El Lamento de Orfeo

About me

Hello, you can call me Orfeo!

‘Weird Medieval Guys’_ 50 Amusing And Confusing Medieval Paintings I couldn't find a photo of myself. Look at this being.

I'm a university student in Spain, currently on the verge of starting my second year, majoring in History and Art History. Additionally, I'm pursuing a technical qualification in embalming and reconstructive cosmetology. I've always had eclectic interests since childhood, as I matured, I cultivated a sensitivity for the arts, history, and the broader scope of humanism.

I'm in one of the most confusing years of my life. Academically, I had it easy throughout primary school, high school, and even pre-university studies. Of course, I had rough patches, but nothing I couldn't recover from by the end of each school year.

This first year of university, however, I've failed more than half my subjects. As a result, I've lost my scholarship and now have a debt of thousands of euros (I'm too embarrassed to give you the exact amount, but it's over three thousand euros, just to give you an idea). I decided to look for a job in the funeral sector so I wouldn't be an even bigger financial burden on my parents, although this training also adds to the sum I'll have to pay. How will I find balance between university, a future job, and my non-existent social life? We'll see how the year progresses, stay tuned.

Blogging about all these issues feels like a way to keep from falling into despair, to see my progress, and to connect with others who, like me, are going through difficult times.
